Archie

Please note that we are only expecting to make a few improvements to Archie for the moment. Our resources need to be focussed on advancing other critical projects, such as RevMan. Your suggestions are still very welcome and will be collected, but they are not likely to be implemented in the immediate future.

Tell us what you need.
Start with a short label and then a fuller description. If you can, try to include a ‘user story’ as the first line of the description. A user story is about clearly telling is who you are, what you want and why you need it.
Example: “As an author, I want to edit my review on my tablet, so I can finish it faster.”

How can we improve Archie?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. allow me to download my manuscript

Hi. I can no longer download my PDF manuscript from Archie. I get an error message that says: " Adobe Acrobat Reader could not open 'Patient reminder recall..." because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded.)"

    • Include additional tables in "preview published pdf" function for DTA reviews

Using the "preview published pdf" function in Archie displays a PDF version of the review but does not include any "additional tables" which may be in the review; they are simply omitted from DTA reviews. (They appear in previews of intervention reviews)

      • Ensure that names with Jr/Sr can be correctly cited

We have recently published a review in which one on of the authors' names has the suffix 'Jr'. He was understandably keen that this appear on the paper as it is part of his name. However, the suffix box is not enabled in Archie so it does not appear on the published review. Adding the suffix to the end of the surname box results in incorrect citation (e.g. Jones Jr CM rather than Jones CM Jr). Could the suffix box be enabled please? I understand this is a minor issue but it caused major delays with the publication of our…

        • Prevent creation of LfP form for deceased author

Ensure LfP forms are not generated in Archie for deceased authors, when a review is marked for publication

The Policy Resource supports the case and does say that “Licence for publication form: No licence for publication form is required for the deceased author, as advised by our publisher, John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.”
